We’ve got some exciting news to share: our newest physician, Dr. Brittany Kalapach, DPM, is now officially board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM)!
Certification for podiatrists is no easy process. In fact, it takes years of education, training, and hard work. When you get your certification, it’s proof that you have mastered the skills, knowledge, and expertise necessary to provide excellent foot and ankle care to patients of all ages and needs.
All podiatrists certified by the ABPM must complete four-year doctoral training program at an accredited institution, followed by a 2 or 3-year residency. After that, doctors must first pass an initial qualifying exam, followed by a more extensive certification examination.
Dr. Kalapach’s special interests include diabetic foot care, lower extremity limb salvage, forefoot surgery, rearfoot surgery, and wound care. To learn more about diabetic foot care, order our free book, Diabetes and Your Feet. Her skill and dedication in these and other areas of podiatric medicine have already made a huge difference in the lives of her patients here at Austin Foot and Ankle.
We’re so glad to have Dr. Kalapach, a native Austinite and now board-certified physician, on our growing team of foot and ankle experts! Congratulations on your accomplishment!
