Have Questions ?

How should a mold be taken for a custom orthotic?

A mold for a custom orthotic must capture the foot in a position that places it at its most ideal or corrected position which ultimately allows the foot to function to its maximal capacity - free of injury to the foot and subsequently the rest of the joints in the ankle, knee, hip and back.  The technique that your doctor uses is a special technique designed specifically to capture the most functional position of your foot using a foam impression kit.  This casting technique allows for an exact and reproducible foot impression which allows the manufacturer to create the best and most functional orthotic for you.
