What do you make of barefoot running?

In November 2004, Harvard scientist Daniel E. Liberman published a study supporting the theory the evolution has equipped the human body for endurance running. In May 2009, Christopher McDougall's book titled Born to Run was released. It chronicles the Tarahumara tribes's ability to easily run hundreds of miles barefoot. In the Fall of 2009, The New York Times published a series of articles, including one on the trend of foot gloves like the Vibram FiveFingers and the barefoot phenomenon reached the masses. We suggest that if you decide to participate in this trend that set an exercise base and plan to convert from the heel strike position to a forefoot strike position. We recommend that this style of running be used with barefoot running style shoe to protect from manmade surfaces like gravel and cement.
