Scirex

Purpose:
The SCIREX Research Centers are in the business of conducting clinical research studies for acute pain. One of its well know acute pain models includes the bunionectomy, bunionectomy with collateral procedures or hammertoe model, which allows for single and multiple does of an investigation drug. At any given time, the SCIREX Research Centers may have multiple bunionectomy, bunionectomy with collateral procedures or hammertoe studies on-going for various pharmaceutical or biotech sponsors. In an effort to streamline the process of determining a patient’s eligibility for one or more studies being run simultaneously, this umbrella protocol is intended to allow on non-study specific bunion screening information collection form, pre-screening consent form, and health history questionnaire to be used at all SCIREX Research Center locations.

Procedures:
Upon initial contact of a SCIREX Research Center by a person interested in bunionectomy, bunionectomy with collateral procedures or hammertoe research studies, the bunion screening information collection for will be used by SCIREX staff to begin the prescreening process. If the information provided by the caller meets preliminary requirements, an appointment is scheduled for the potential study candidate to continue the prescreening process at the research center.
